My Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

A few years ago I created my own oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe, and it is by far my favorite treat ever! I have shared them with neighbors and friends, and they all claim to love them too. I simply can't stop eating them after two or three, or six or eight, but usually after a dozen I am full and can stop. They are delicious and semi-healthy, which makes it so easy to just devour them. As I was polishing off the last dozen today the grand idea came to me to share my recipe via pinterest.  Here is my recipe:

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mix:

2 cups of sugar

¼ c molasses

1 cup of canola oil

Add and mix:

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

½ tsp. salt

2 tsp. cinnamon

2 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

Add and mix:

3 cups oatmeal

Add and mix:

2 cups flour

1 cup milk chocolate chips

Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes

*A couple variations I'll do: I'll substiture about 1/2 cup of flaxseed meal to my dry ingredients, just be sure that your dry indgredients are only 5 cups. So you can do 1 1/2 cups of flour and 1/2 cup flaxseed meal or 2 1/2 cups of oatmeal and 1/2 cup of flaxseed meal, etc. Also, if for some reason my dough seems too dry (like kids distracted me in the process) I will add a tablespoon or two of milk.

What really makes my cookies divine, is the molasses. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, or even half as much ;)
